I'm just starting on this book "Superfoods" by David Wolfe. I got it free as an "Early Reviewer" for the website LibraryThing.com.
Superfoods are foods that contain more than your usual amount of nutrients. They include a lot of things that I've just started eating on my own without the knowledge of them being superfoods: raw honey, raw chocolate (cacao) and spirulina among many others.
I will be posting more as I learn more, so stay tuned.
I'm not familiar with this particular superfoods book. There are lots of them out there. Even Dr Guttersen in her Sonoma Diet book lists about 10 superfoods.
ReplyDeleteIdeally, claims of superfoods should be supported by clinical studies in humans. But you rarely see this.
Claims of being "super" are usually a marketing gimmick, although could start out with the best of intentions.
