7/8/09 - Sam Adams Day

Well, even though it gives my tummy the run around on most occasions, I was at the Sam Adams brewery, so I had to have some beer. If you'd like to see more about my visit, including some behind-the-scene pic, go to the regular blog, here.

Meals

BREAKFAST
coffee with soymilk and honey
leftover risotto
water

LUNCH
1/2 a juice glass of:
Cherry Wheat
Boston Ale
Boston Lager
Boston Brick Red
Summer Ale

DINNER
Green beans, rice and mixed green salad
lemonade & water

SNACK
small piece of apple pie
cup of tea
water

SUPPER
2 pieces of freshly backed italian bread & evoo
mussels in spicy sauce with polenta
mixed olives
arugula salad with shredded mozzarella and tomato in a light vinaigrette
eggplant rolled with ricotta and marinara sauce
1 small glass of red wine
4 glasses of water

SNACK
Boston Lager, over darts at the West Roxbury Pub - Tigh kicked me 'n Rene's butts

You know, when in Rome, so, there was some temperate drinking going on yesterday. I also had about 10 Tums. I felt okay throughout the day and was happy to have had the opportunity. Tigh is very good company! We also had dinner with his very nice former landlords and then we went to Sophia's Grotto, since that place is delicious.

Pyramid
Veg: eggplant, arugula, marinara sauce, mixed greens, asparagus, mushroom, olives (2 srv)
Grain: bread (2 srv), rice, risotto, polenta
Fruit: uh, apples in the apple pie?
Legume: green beans
Dairy: ricotta, mozzarella, soy milk
N/s: none (but the olives sort of fill in there)
Other: olive oil, coffee, tea, lemonade, water (8 or so), small red wine, mussels, balsam vinegar, fresh basil
Bad: pie (small piece though), beer (fresh though!)
Activity: limited
R&W: journaling, some creative writing!, reading -poetry (John Wieners) and book about writing (for inspiration: Natalie Goldberg's "Writing Down the Bones"

This was a very, very good day, I must say. Lovely weather, good company, fun things and all that.
